SQUISEAT
Squiseat was selected as the winning project. This project consists of an online shopping platform, that allows restaurants or supermarkets to sell leftovers or surplus at a discount price, thus avoiding food waste. One original feature is the possibility to book in advance for a restaurant, which helps cooks to prepare the exact number of meals needed and help reduce food waste at the source. These requests can be collected and used to design better forecasts.
As the winning project for this challenge, they received a cash prize of € 5,000 as a contribution for the development of the project idea; 1 month of access to Bi-Rex coworking for the whole team (4-5 accesses) with the possibility of using infrastructures such as digital resources (VMs, IoT platforms, modelling software ...) to support the development of the idea among other prizes. The hackathon was an important step for Squiseat to develop its network, helping the project to reach out to investment funds and big players in logistics.
