Large Companies

What is your relation with large companies?
A: from DIH Extremadura we have a direct relationship with tractor companies, some are IHL partners and participate in the governance of the project, also in different vertical working groups.  

Competence Centers

Do you engage with Competence Centers, if yes, how?
A: As well as government entities, there are several founding partners that are competence centers, we work connected with them, in the case of Computaex, it is the entity in charge of managing the Lusitania supercomputer, we work in High Performance computing and we help to carry out pilot projects. companies in our ecosystem. Something similar happens with the University of Extremadura, all its testing and experimentation laboratories are part of the catalog of assets of our DIH.  

Farmer organisations

What is your relation with farmer organisations?
A: As end users of technological solutions, we often have interactions with different associations and cooperatives of farmers, they are in the value chain and are the main beneficiaries of the processes promoted by IHL for the digitization of the agri-food industry.  

Innovation Experiments

What are your current activities regarding Innovation Experiments?
A: Test & Research: ● Analysis of the necessities and evaluation of the digital maturity of companies, technical advice and vision for the digital transformation, through tracking of the business and its development. ● Promotion of the integration, adaptation, presentation and personalization of different technologies, and testing of digital systems (software & hardware). ● Transfer of knowledge and technology. ● Validation tests, idea trials, production of prototypes etcs.

What is your relation with other DIHs?
A: Participation in different European DIHs networks and in projects such as smartagrihubs where we are connected with other DIH and we generate synergies between our ecosystem and the assets of other IHL.  

Governmental organisations

What is your relation with governmental organisations?
A: FUNDECYT-PCTEX, entity that coordinates DIH in Extremadura is a public sector foundation, the government of Extremadura and provincial governments are founding members of our IHL, the relationship with government entities is continuous and direct, DIH is a policy tool regional to promote digitization.

What is your relation with other DIHs?
A: We work across multiple DIHs both nationally and internationally to create mutually beneficial working collaborations that will accelerate industry and farming’s movement to net zero. This includes project collaborations, Knowledge dissemination and Living Labs.

What is your relation with farmer organisations?
A: Being based in a rural area in Ireland in which farming is a critical economic driver we work closely with the farming community and national agencies to assess what their carbon footprint is and potential new technologies and methods they can adopt to reduce this in an economically efficient manners.

What is your relation with large companies?
A: We help large SMEs and Mult nationals plug knowledge gaps that they may have in terms of their Sustainability and low carbon activity. We help them to do this through helping them gain access to finance, domain expertise and training/Consultancy.

Do you engage with Competence Centers, if yes, how?
A: The Cube links existing and emerging industries and top-class education to ensure Ireland has the technical knowledge and the skills necessary to excel in the transition of the industry to carbon neutrality. The Cube has a network of partners in place that deliver internationally accredited, best in class training and services to an industry that will help to future proof Irish industry and create a competitive advantage as we transition to a net-zero economy. 


Governmental organisations

What is your relation with governmental organisations?
A: The Cube is funded and lead by National and Municipality based government bodies. The centre was set up by such institutions to ensure that Ireland is futureproofed as we transition to a Carbon neutral economy and to ensure that all communities experience a Just Transition to Net Zero.

What are your current activities regarding Innovation Experiments?
A: We are currently involved in H2020 and other community and business focussed projects that focus on delivering cost effective solutions for SMEs to adopt and deploy renewable energy.

What are your current activities regarding Innovation Experiments?
A: ACA members have been involved in testing new IT programmes and apps developed for use on Irish farms. Our members are asked by government agencies to assist them by testing the systems capabilities of providing the correct solutions and data for the user and the farmer client. Our Association is growing rapidly and new structures are in only in place the past 2 years, so we envisage significant advances in this area very soon.

What is your relation with governmental organisations?
A: ACA has a strong relationship with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and other departments that have direct and indirect relationships with the agri sector. We also link in with the semi-state organisation Teagasc, although we are currently seeking new and innovative ways of linking their research and educational centres with our members through our Head Office. This would be great news for Irish farmers and if we can develop and collaborate between us, then state funded tools, research materials and latest IT innovations will be accessible to 3 out of every 4 farmers in Ireland.

What is your relation with other DIHs?
A: ACA are at the early stages of developing relationships with DIH’s. We had initial discussions recently with a number of stakeholders and we want to be part of the programmes both within Ireland and across the EU. There is an untapped resource within the private advisory service in Ireland with our 55,000 farmer client base and the opportunities to start formal links with DIH’s and bring new ideas to our customers following discussion with them on the supports they require to fulfil their needs.

What is your relation with large companies?
A: Do you mean large companies such as Co-Ops in the Agri Sector or across all elements of society? Both, we want to look at the full ecosystem of your DIH.  

Farmer organisations

What is your relation with farmer organisations?
A: ACA regularly keeps in contact with farm organisations to discuss all policy issues affecting Irish farmers, both current and future. The majority of our farmer client base are members of different farm organisations so we must remain in contact to discuss mutual issues. Sustainability programmes promoted by farm organisations require the support of ACA members to help with the implementation and adoption of these new practices on the farms of clients.
