Webinar: The agri-food sector in the midst the COVID-19 waves: A new way of working for the DIHs and farmers
On Monday the 9th of November, SmartAgriHubs invited you to its second webinar dedicated to the Covid-19 crisis and its impact on the agri-food sector. During this successful edition, which gather more than 120 attendees, the public had the opportunity to learn more about the impact of the crisis on farmers, the impact of the Covid-19 on the workflow and the ICT solutions under development to respond to the pandemic lasting effect!
After a short introduction by Karolína Menclová - representative of CZMAU at COPA-COGECA, the public was invited to an elevator pitch session of 5 projects funded by the SmartAgriHubs RESPOND-call and could vote for the most innovative one. These projects were addressing for example the shortage of labour forces, the lack of sales opportunity or the need of more transparency in the agri-food sector. Follow our social media to learn more about ROOTS, the winner of the poll, in the coming weeks!
The webinar continued with the presentation of the hackathon and datathon opportunities organised by DIHs in Europe. These projects, also funded by the RESPOND-Call, have the great potential to come up with new creative and innovative solutions. To learn more about the hackathons and datathons, you can consult the dedicated channel on the SAH Forum.
Finally, SmartAgriHubs gave the floor to three Horizon2020 projects – ATLAS, AgROBOfood and Smart-Bear - to discuss the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on their workflow. The session was extremely interesting, as it provided a few solutions to tackle the issues resulting from the unexpected restrictions imposed by our governments. It was also a great opportunity to discuss the role that the ICT sector and innovation are playing to overcome the new challenges we are facing.
The SmartAgriHubs team would like to thank you - speakers and participants, for your support and for helping us to make this webinar a great success! If you missed the webinar, you can watch it here, and of course, we encourage you to share it with your colleagues and network.
