Enhance the supply chain management of proximity food system thanks to digital technologies.
Who is your end-user, and how are they going to benefit?
Local stakeholders such as local authorities, Chamber of agriculture or groups of farmers are involved to define agri-food challenges and to benefit from the solutions developed during the FLP event. ICT companies are involved as solution providers and are invited to submit a solution on the FLP portal and to start discussing with other solution and challenge providers to develop solutions. They will be able to access a new market.

This is a project to launch the challenge Agrotech Awards to Search for solutions of a marked technological nature that, in the context of the pandemic (Covid-19) and based on sustainability and safety criteria, allow the strengthening and tightening of the relationship between supply and demand along the agri-food chain, enhancing the local commerce, as well as developing efficient food distribution strategic.
Who is your end-user, and how are they going to benefit?
One winner proposal will receive a €15,000 prize. The use of these technological solutions will be useful and profitable for several types of stakeholders. The aim is to shorten the supply chain and ensure fresh food in a pandemic situation, so: all kinds of producers (especially small ones) and consumers.

Fruvo B.V. is a company in Krabbendijke (the Netherlands) that deals with cooling, sorting and trading of top fruit (apples and pears). The company has more than 7 million kilo conditioned storage. With this innovation the result is ‘picking & placing’ 50-60 apples/pears per minute, fixed size, by color and quality. Result: higher yield, faster harvest, 'covid-19 resistant'.

The role of agricultural representatives is to choose the best topics and solutions that will contribute to the development of the digitalization of the agricultural system and that will provide innovative digital solutions for practical implementation based on real agricultural needs, in order to recover economic losses caused by the pandemic.
